Classical soft graviton theorem rewritten

چکیده
Classical soft graviton theorem gives the gravitational wave-form at future null infinity late retarded time $u$ for a general classical scattering. The large expansion has three known universal terms: constant term, term proportional to $1/u$ and $\ln u/u^2$, whose coefficients are determined solely in terms of momenta incoming outgoing hard particles, including carried by electromagnetic radiation produced during For also as memory effect, dependence on away final state / massless particles is non-linear or memory. It was shown earlier that coefficient cancels result can be written massive particles. In this note we show same holds u/u^2$ term. Our implies scattering momenta, even if coalesce form black hole radiation. We use our compute low frequency flux from collision impact parameter.

BMS supertranslations and Weinberg’s soft graviton theorem
Recently it was conjectured that a certain infinite-dimensional “diagonal” subgroup of BMS supertranslations acting on past and future null infinity (I − and I +) is an exact symmetry of the quantum gravity S-matrix, and an associated Ward identity was derived. In this paper we show that this supertranslation Ward identity is precisely equivalent to Weinberg’s soft graviton theorem. Along the w...
متن کاملHigher-Dimensional Supertranslations and Weinberg’s Soft Graviton Theorem
Asymptotic symmetries of theories with gravity in d = 2m+2 spacetime dimensions are reconsidered for m > 1 in light of recent results concerning d = 4 BMS symmetries. Weinberg’s soft graviton theorem in 2m + 2 dimensions is re-expressed as a Ward identity for the gravitational S-matrix. The corresponding asymptotic symmetries are identified with 2m + 2-dimensional supertranslations. An alternat...
متن کاملGraviton emission from a soft brane
Theories with compact extra spatial dimensions felt only by gravity are subject to direct experimental tests if the compactification volume is large. Estimates of high-energy collider observables induced by graviton radiation into extra dimensions are usually given assuming rigid branes. This may overestimate the accessibility of these theories. Brane fluctuations soften the coupling of gravito...
متن کاملA classical PT theorem
The following argument is adapted from that in Bell (1955). I cannot quite follow Bell’s argument1, so I have changed it to generate a result I understand. In outline, the result is as follows. We consider a classical theory given by a system of partial differential equations on a specified set of fields. Let Φ be the space of kinematically allowed fields. (In the general case, we may be dealin...
متن کاملClassical no-cloning theorem.
A classical version of the no-cloning theorem is discussed. We show that an arbitrary probability distribution associated with a (source) system cannot be copied onto another (target) system while leaving the original distribution of the source system unperturbed. For classical dynamical systems such a perfect cloning process is not permitted by the Liouvillian (ensemble) evolution associated w...
